Coach Flanagan comes to San Pasqual from San Diego State University (see Coach Flanagan's resume here). In 2008 San Pasqual High School became part of the Avocado League, joining La Costa Canyon, Escondido, Torrey Pines, Fallbrook, and Mission Hills. We're excited about playing against quality programs with excellent players and are looking forward to another successful season.
Coach Beck Flanagan, Varsity Head Coach Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson sums up my aspirations for this basketball program. I intend for all of us to achieve greatness on and off the court with incredible enthusiasm, a terrific work ethic, and the intense desire to be the best we can possibly be! I began coaching basketball at the age of sixteen with my younger brother's 7th and 8th grade team. After two years at the youth level, I had developed a deep passion for teaching the game and dreams of coaching at higher levels. I caught a break at the age of twenty when I was asked to move up from Assistant Varsity to Head Varsity Coach at my Alma Mater. After the best four seasons in school history for any sport for boys or girls with numerous awards and league titles, I left Los Angeles for beautiful San Diego. I was a practice player for the San Diego State University Women’s Basketball team where I played against the SDSU post players during practice. I also volunteered with the Special Olympics, where I co-coached a girls basketball team. I decided to invest my time and energy to build a great girls basketball program at San Pasqual High School, and here I am! With the help of a fantastic coaching staff and strong support from wonderful parents, I'm excited to see our players and teams achieve great success for years to come!

Coach Jim Byler, Varsity Assistant Coach I have coached just about every youth sport possible, but without a doubt basketball is my favorite game. I coached at all levels in the Vista Youth Basketball League, and coached the middle school girls team at the Vista Academy for two years. Last year I coached the boys JV team at Escondido Charter High School. We finished 13 and 5, the first winning season in the school's short history. My most important coaching has been with my daughter and two sons. All three played high school basketball, and all three have a love of this great game. My coaching philosophy is simple: play hard, play smart, play to win, and have fun! I am thrilled to be part of the Lady Eagles, and have been totally impressed with the great group of kids in the program. GO EAGLES!!!
Coach Samuel Hein, JV Head Coach Going into second year of coaching, first year with San Pasqual High. Coach Brittany Byler, Volunteer Coach I am extremely excited to be a part of Eagles basketball. Basketball has been in my blood since I started playing at the age 8 with recreation, club and school programs. I played two years of JV basketball at Rancho Buena Vista, winning Palomar league, and two years at Valley Center. I continued my basketball career at Palomar college, but due to a car accident early in the season, I was unable to continue playing and focused my attention on becoming a coach. I am also proud to be on the same coaching team as my Dad, who because of his countless hours coaching me in basketball, instilled a love for the game. A love I hope to instill in my players. I am currently a senior at Cal State University, San Marcos, and work with intellectually disabled children and adults at TERI inc.
